Yeah so. Resistance (from Insomniac) is over.
I already had a feeling. Resistance 3 ties up the story line Insomniac started pretty well, but leaves open questions about the universe in general open. Plus, they kind of hinted a lot that Resistance 3 was probably going to be their last game. They had been hinting for a while, but idk why it makes me so sad to hear them finally say they're done.
idk what to say about Resistance. I don't talk about it as much as other games I play
And even before that, like, near when PS3 launched, around 2007... I had been interested enough in Resistance's concept to read up on its back story and everything despite not having touched the game or a ps3, not knowing anyone with a ps3 and not even having plans to get a ps3.
And really...? My PS3 and related fandom that came with it
I know the series isn't dead, I know other developers can probably make decent enough games for the franchise, but I'm always going to wonder how close to Insomniac's canon they are. I remember reading somewhere about how they had all these background facts worked out. I don't know how MUCH background they had, maybe they already put it in their 3 games? Who knows? But that's just it, what if they had all the answers and then....give it to someone else who decides they don't like it?
I'm just always going to wonder. Plus, Resistance 3 had a character I really really liked in it AND NOW....who knows what's gonna happen to him. :C
gah this series, so many feelings so many akjdsajkld everything. ;-;
aw well. i will definitely be into playing whatever it is Insomniac puts out in the future though. need more overstrike news now plz. :c

Hearing (officially) that a studio is done with a series is always sad, though :( but especially since this is Resistance. I feel the same way as you do about the questions they left open. Other studios might answer them with their own games, but we'll never know for sure if that's what Insomniac had planned in their own canon. I just hope whatever other studios work on new Resistance titles don't give the series a bad name.
I'm going to be disappoint forever over this too. :( Especially since it means no more Trololol...or at least the danger of Trololol being ruined/killed/whatever by a company that's not Insomniac :'c

but then i was thinking, not many studios even do something like that for ending a series...so...props for that I suppose. ;-; mi just butthurt for all of time thats all. I MEAN ITS NOT LIKE I HAVE A SRPA LOGO ON MY CAR OR ANYTHING.
and yea charlie too. I WILL MISS HIM. :( I hope he shows up in another game .....and isnt ruined. urrhggh or even any of the other insomniac characters. WAT ABOUT CARTWRIGHT? :( bawls.
And I think it's really fascinating when you stop and think about the impact that something has had on the rest of your life. Like, you mentioning that resistance leading you to buy a ps3 lead to all of us meeting made me stop and think about the things that lead into that for me too, and it's kinda like whoa. In my case it wasn't resistance, but I do think other games were responsible for my choices. It's kinda cool to think about. And I'm really glad that it's lead to so many things! I mean obviously. :3 Not that resistance is at all bad on its own, but it does make it all that much better that it's become a stepping stone to other things (like games too! insomniac's bff companies for instance :D).
I think it's probably a good thing though too that they're able to stop now, since this is the point that they wanna stop. Like, if they were owned by sony and had to keep going with making resistance titles against their will, it might affect the quality of the games. >> Which would be ultra sad, cuz then you couldn't even blame another studio for it at that point.
AND I DONT THINK THAT'S TRUE. sony is a cool guy and if insomniac was like NAH I DONT WANNA then they wouldnt make them either way. and even if they were supposed to i dont think the quality would drop either. :I insomniac is better than that i think.
