Some things that have happened recently... uhm...

I'm moving again soon. Well, October to be exact. Everyone here is tired of dealing with the landlord's crap. She is too cheap and hires workers to fix things that aren't really fixed when they leave. They were going to leave my sink leaking more than it was when they arrived had I not intercepted them and informed them it was still pouring water out the bottom. They also "fixed" our back gate by making impossible to open unless you literally body slam it. Plus the house is old and kind of falling apart. Stuff we want to fix or replaced (our oven isn't broken, but it is literally the worst oven I've ever used in my life) the landlord is just like WELL IT ISN'T BROKEN SO DEAL WITH IT~~ so everyone is done. just done.

Not looking forward to moving (really) but it might be nice to start over again with placement of everything.

Last week was all the E3 stuff. The only thing that consistently made a presence to me was Sunset Overdrive. It's made by my favorite game developer (Insomniac Games, surely people who read this know that already?) and it just looks SO FUN. Anyone who followed my (surely obnoxious) live tweeting of all the e3 stuff probably saw me whine about how it was the game I wanted the most. But... its Xbone exclusive. I don't want an Xbone, I told myself. It's not worth buying an Xbone for ONE game, I said.

Well then on Wednesday morning, Insomniac posted about how they were doing a ~public event~ in Los Angeles showing off Sunset Overdrive, doing giving away some posters (for pre-ordering the game) and some other stuff. I was at work, and I immediately started debating. Should I go? I loved the last Insomniac event I went to, probably the most fun I've had at something in a long long time. Surely it would be similar... right?

Well, I went. AND IT WAS AMAZING. I got to play the game too! IT IS ALSO AMAZING. The mode I got to play was a multiplayer mode, but I got to play with all the weapons it has the I love the colorful art style and fast movements. There is a gun that shoots vinyl records. And another one that shoots explosive Teddy Bears. LIKE REALLY. The worst part (for me) was that the demo came without an inverted Y axis so it was a bit difficult for me to play. I'm one of those people that ALWAYS has to switch the axis. (for those who don't know, it means making the camera controls so down is up and up is down) I don't know why? It's always been that way. Even if I forget to change it when I start playing my camera angle is immediately shoved into the floor and I know why. My brain is just wired that way!! So I kept having to make an extra effort to turn the camera.

I still managed to get 3rd place in my group though. Somehow. I was also in the first group of people ~in the public~ (ie: not E3 attenders) that go to play Sunset Overdrive.

I also got a super cool signed poster...which I unfortunately am unable to share a picture of... becauuuuuuuuse as I'm typing this my cell phone just broke. For... no real reason.

WELL I guess I know what I'm doing for the rest of the afternoon.

WELP. nothing inFamous related AT ALL came out of E3. I'm super disappointed, to say the least. They even name-dropped Cole in the start of the conference and it got me so super excited AND THEN......nothing. Not even a reveal for All-Stars. The new characters turned out to be Nathan Drake (from Uncharted ofc) and the Big Daddy from Bioshock. |:

No Overstrike. Nothing really for Vita except the new Assassin Creed game...

Quantic Dream did announce their new game which looks pretty interesting. I have somewhat of a personal problem with it that I won't get into here as I'm sure I'll get over it... but yeah. I'd like to know more about the plot. :I It looks impressive so far though.

However the one game that did catch my attention? WATCH DOGS. From the Ubisoft panel. When it started with the explanation trailer I was like "what am I watching. what is this. what" but it was super interesting...and it panned out from there and by the end I was trying to throw money at my TV.

E3 IS TOMORROW. I'M SO EXCITED. You can't even comprehend. well maybe you can by the amount of times i've mentioned it.

but i'm posting this to make my list of HOPES AND DREAMS to come out of this. some of these are unlikely, some of them aren't... and some of them are just LOL IN YOUR DREAMS. but i can hope ok.

today i was at work and bored and i started thinking about upcoming possible game announcement stuff.

then i thought, oh hey, insomniac games could have something, they have at least 3 teams for making games... wouldn't that be cool.

then like 2 minutes later i looked at my phone to find a txt from twitter that was insomniac announcing a new ratchet & clank game. and i was like FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

it was the best timing EVERRRRRRRRRRR.

im excited. also apparently there is a rumor sucker punch might have something for e3. i shouldn't get excited about rumors but if its from sucker punch i hope its infamous and if it is there will be so much fangirling. so much that it might be a danger to me and people around me. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

i think im going to install a count down widget for the sony panel on my phone.

a week or so ago (I FORGET WHEN :D:D:D) i played the demo for spec ops: the line. AND IT WAS REALLY NEAT. i like the environment, and despite it being in a city that's covered almost entirely with sand (and destroyed by sand storms lol) it's not /all brown/. Not that brown games bug me, but people bitch about it a lot. and i bet people will bitch about that game "being brown" anyway lollo

I'd been watching the preview images/videos for this game for a while now (over a year? i think?) but I hadn't planned on buying it right when it came out... but now thanks to that demo I've pre-ordered it off amazon. oh, and amazon is giving me free $10 for pre-ordering it from them. free amazon money and a game? sold.

I also pre-ordered the new Resistance vita game even though the studio behind it has that terrible "playstation move heroes" game on their roster oh god why BUT I'M TRYING TO GIVE THEM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT. But Insomniac is done... so... :'c I'll have to deal with it.

BUT THIS BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT POINT. I feel like I have too many uncompleted games. TOO MANY. And now I have to decide which one to play next. I'm hoping I can finish two full games before Spec Ops comes out (end of June) i can probably do that. i could probs do more if i wasn't so intent on replaying games i've already played. killzone 3 is a cool guy though.

i have other uncompleted games, but out of the playstation 3 and the Ps vita games, which should I play next!? (also Resistance: Burning Skies isn't out yet, but will be on Tuesday, so i added it anyway)

Also E3 is next week!!! NEXT WEEK!!! NEXT. WEEK.

i don't even know what to expect, other than obvious things, but oh golly gee whiz... i am looking forward to the unknown. btw, if anything inFamous related is announced the internet might implode, and it might be my fault. just a fair warning.

also looking forward to anything from insomniac. hoping to see more of overstrike. :x The devs keep tweeting about playing the game SO I HOPE THEY WILL HAVE SOMETHING TO SHOW AT E3 NEXT WEEK. im too excited.

but a lot of people aren't.

most of the backlash i've seen for it falls into two arguments.

1) "its a smash brothers rip off"
2) "sony has no fun/interesting/memorable characters to make the game good"

OH. OKAY.

i disagree 100%. obviously. and i'm not just saying this as a sony fangirl either even though i am, no shame. just because sony doesn't have any series that have run as long as a lot of nintendo's characters doesn't mean they aren't good or interesting. in fact, for me personally i find i like sony's characters a lot more. most of the nintendo ones feel more like mascots than actual /characters/ to me. and i know this doesn't make my opinion "right", but i was like the nintendo fangirl until nintendo crushed all my loyalty to them with the wii. never again.

before i got my ps3 i was not even super into any video game fandoms. BUT NOW LOOK AT ME. :( can any of you even imagine me not being a video game fan...

idk maybe i'm just taking it too personally but its like rrghhgrurg. whatever you guys.

OH! and e3 pressers have been confirmed for june 4th. it's a monday again. i'm going to spend all day sealed in my room glued to my tv as i watch EVERY SINGLE GAME ANNOUNCEMENT EVER. it's going to be the most exciting day of 2012 for me. what is my life. if only i could go to e3 in person. :'c so close, but so far. crycrycry

conference was missing kevin butler though. :( He was my favorite from last year. I AM DISAPPOINT.

Even though I hate Cole's new voice I cannot stop watching this trailer. The melee weapon looks so freaking awesome and lsakldksalksdaslkd i bet that big shadowy thing at the end is like ~*~THE BEAST~*~ or something or....or maybe just something also badass. aaaaaaaaa. i am excite ok.

also lets hope they explain his ~*~ICE POWERS~*~ better or w/e.

Also also also Kevin Butler is the coolest guy ever. He made a speech at the Sony Conference that makes me (almost) want to get the Move peripheral. it's cheaper than Kinect!11
