antoj: (jensen again)
so like. i enjoy collecting trophies in games. its fun. im only 2 platinum trophies away from 10!! (for those that don't know, platinum trophies are awarded to players that get all the trophies available in game :U ooh aah)

i expected deus ex to be number 9. which i had full intentions on getting tonight.

this game also has trophies for not tripping an alarm and not killing any of the things in the entire game. i thought those would be pretty hard esp after hearing about people that tried them, got to the end, and then didn't get them somehow.

so imagine me when i have 3 trophies left to trigger for my last one, the ending credits are playing... no kills trophy pops. YAY. no alarms trophy pops. DOUBLE YAY. i eagerly await one more to pop and the delicious platinum trophy........................but it doesn't.

which one didn't work?? the BEAT THE GAME ON HARDEST DIFFICULTY ONE.....despite the fact i put it on the hardest difficulty upon starting and never even looked in the options menu since starting. SO WTF GAME. WTFFFFFFFF. Y U DO THIS TO ME.

i even tried beating the last boss again JUST IN CASE it would remind the game it forgot something. BUT NO. FOR SOME REASON, THE DIFFICULTY TROPHY WAS GLITCHED ON THAT FILE. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.

so now.

i have to play the game again. :I

..............for probably one of the easier trophies in the game. at least i got the no alarms and no kills trophy. bcuz now i can hack terminals and make robots and turrets kill all the things while i continue to not give a fuck. BUT IM STILL MAD AND ANGRY

i kinda wanna know what negated it. like, seriously. bcuz im calling straight up glitches. >:I

yes this is a giant rant about invisible trophies that probably no one can relate to but IM ANNOYED OK. esp when i saw the other two pop and it got my hopes up that OMG I DID A THING I DID IT OMGOMGOMG but then was like ".............................:D where's the last one?"

k the end
well a third play means i can look for even more subtle hints for my ship in here so at least there's that

Maybe because you picked the hardest difficulty from the beginning, and they overlooked it during testing because they assumed that people would start on normal difficulty? One of the Fire Emblem games had a glitch where it wouldn't import data correctly if you played it on easy.

this is the second time i've played through though! the first one i played through on normal...the second one i put it on hard in the menu. since it asks you what difficulty you want going INTO the game. ;-;

the only other (stupid) thing i can think of that might have broken it is that i have my old "normal" save file still on my ps3... but if it was confused there i shouldn't have gotten any trophies since i killed all the things in that file.

either way looks like i have to play again. :(

edit: it also lists your difficulty next to your save file and the entire time mine said it was on hard. so i don't even. i am just chalking it up to GLITCHES ATE MY TROPHY

Ughhh that really sucks D: that's often why I don't try to get the platinum trophy... I know I would be pissed if something goes wrong. But they really have to do something against these glitches. This is not normal. If it makes you feel better, I should have gotten an achievement in Saints Row 3 for beating Act I and it never popped up ;-; but a friend of mine still got it. I was kind of mad too and wondered what went wrong.

I usually only get platinum trophies in games I really like. That's probably why I have so few despite the amount of games I have. But still, there was no reason I shouldn't have gotten this one! D: I still have no idea....and I am hoping this third play won't eat the trophy a second time. T_T; so close...

i just wonder what makes stuff like that not work?? i mean, beating a section seems about the same as playing on least i have all the harder trophies.

I know why you didn't get the trophy, the game just wanted you to play it again. Good luck the next time around, you can do it...:3

HAHA. well as i was playing my last file on ultra cautious mode i kept thinking about how i wanted to do another play where i could explode at least i got the caution trophies out of the way so i can do that.

i still have to be careful though because jensen dies reaaaaally fast on hard. c.c;

Making things explode is a lot more fun then being cautious. Though, I understand you were unlocking a trophy. I am one of those people that gets a big kick out of making things blow-up in games...XD

You can do it...;)

It's more rewarding to play cautiously in this game, you get more XP for it...and you don't die! (because if nothing sees you it can't kill you |D) but sometimes its fun to throw things and blow people up and just not even care about anything. :I SO NOW I CAN DO THAT!!

"because if nothing sees you it can't kill you |D"

Makes a heck o' a lot o' sense! I will have to remember to not be so trigger happy when I finally play Deus EX...XD

LOL I am sure you will learn... the ammo is reaaaaally limited in the game too! That is the biggest reason I ended up doing mostly stealth...but then I found it more fun in general anyway. There's always a bunch of ways to get something done so its fun to explore. :D

Limited ammo?! That is no fun, especially for trigger happy me!! Oh well, I know I will still enjoy the game!! Another thing I love to do in games, explore...:D

I was disappointed at first too!! My first initial reaction was to just shoot everything. Especially because in the prologue segment you have unlimited ammo... but when I got into the actual game it was like, only 100 semi automatic!? THIS WILL LAST 4 SECONDS. D: HOW DO I WIN and then i found out sneaking/exploring is more entertaining somehow.

Maybe, that is why the company who made Deus Ex did that, they just didn't want people to be trigger happy the whole game?! Sneaking around requires more thought anyway...;)
