EVERYONE WITH A PSN ACCOUNT

hey guys if you have a psn account and you use the same password on stuff please change all your passwords now.

also if you have a credit card on file you might wanna keep a super close eye on that card.

sony just said the PSN is down because hackers stole everyone's data. like....6 days after it happened they tell us this (way 2 b on top of things, son)

ugh ugh. at least for me my expiring debit card was the only one on file (i think) and my password for my sensitive accounts isnt my psn.... but everyone else please do this /now/. I don't know how serious it is because sony once again gives out a vague statement basically saying OH MAYBE A THING HAPPENED LOL.

this is ridiculous.

not making this up btw

kind of pissed about how badly this has been handled lol.

Thanks for the heads up.
I think the way they've handled this is pretty fucking terrible.

What really grates on my nerves though, are the people supporting Anonymous & claiming that "Sony deserves it" and .. don't give a shit that these people are putting millions at risk of identity theft. I don't care what anyone does to Sony, but to bring uninvolved users into the mess and to have people support that is sick.

No, I agree. "Oh hey, 6 days later you guys some of your information might have been leaked including your passwords and maybe even credit card information. OOPS!!!!!"

I don't even know if this is anonymous anymore. Some people say it is but anonymous said it wasn't them... (not that that means it isn't... but yeah.) IDK. But I totally agree. Even when it was just PSN being down I was annoyed at the people saying Sony deserved it. This hurts way more than Sony...

Seriously though before I didn't care if Sony offered any compensation for what happened but now I'm pretty sure they're going to have to if they're not too busy dealing with billions of lawsuits, anyway.

I'm so glad the password on my PSN isn't one I use anywhere else. :I though I'm going to go change the passwords on some other important things that use the same email address just to be cautious.

Sony has handled this so fucking badly ugh. I'm upset with both them and the fucking hackers who did this shit. :/

Yea, I changed a bunch of passwords earlier today too, just to be safe. I also canceled my debit card bcuz it was the one I had on file, even though it was expiring soon. :\ Better safe than sorry, eh?

I agree. Sony is def at fault here lol. And hackers are douches... I can't believe all the blind Sony fans on the psn blog though. Ugh ugh ugh. I like sce a lot ok, but they dropped the ball and people need to see it and admit it.

Yeah, definitely better safe than sorry. I'm going to be keeping a close eye on the card I have on file. :I I get my balance emailed to me every morning already, thankfully, because I'm paranoid about having it stolen lol.

They really are. :/ They could have warned everyone when this all started that they should keep a close eye on their cards, change passwords, etc. but they just left everyone in the dark for no reason. I read a comment from someone on joystiq saying something like Sony probably didn't know whether anything was stolen until now but it's like...it doesn't matter. Their network was compromised and they should have told everyone immediately to take precautions, whether anything was stolen or not.

Sony has turned this into a PR nightmare. :/ And at this point, I really don't care how long it takes for the PSN to come back, just so long as it's ultra fucking secure this time.

LOL I should look into that too. |D But anyway I went to my bank to cancel the debit card and they gave me a 30 day credit monitoring thing on my debit account just to make sure nothing happens. :I

THIS IS ALSO EXACTLY WHAT I SAID ON PSN BLOG only to be met with comments like "ITS UR OWN FAULT U GOT UR CC STOLEN COZ U GAIV IT 2 SONEE" uh....no idiot. ugghughughguh. seriously get sony's dick out of your mouth for two seconds and /think about this/ they fucked up, son. Why the hell else would someone wanna hack into PSN if it wasn't for the user data?

I'm feeling the same way, tbh. I am a little butthurt about the infamous2 beta, but SP said they're extending it so i'm fine with whatever. i have plenty of things i can do that isnt online ps3 gaming anyway. :\ ffff.

you made your account the day PSN pulled the plug on the services. Sony reported the data was stolen the 17th or the 19th somewhere in there.....so..... LOL your data seems like it would be safe anyway. :b

I just saw the email. Thankfully my passwords are different for everything, but I really hope they didn't get my credit card info. If this is connected to me hitting my credit card limit a few days ago, I'm going to be furious.

The information was compromised on the 17~19th of april. Check your statements for any weird activity after that time. :\ hopefully its nothing but we'll see, eh?
