Insomniac Games Community Day 2011

Community day was yesterday! It was the best day ever. Everyone at Insomniac is such a cool bro. My only regret is not having gotten more pictures, but yea. Anyway I'm going to go a bit more into detail about it under the cut, also lots of pictures!

the first pic I took. lol. I made these Ratchet and Clank dolls just for community day. I spent so many hours sewing to get them done in time. lol.

After much traffic and such I FINALLY MAKE IT. Egyptian theater aww yeaa. There wasn't many people in line when I arrived around 11am or so. When I got in line lots of people were commenting on the Resistance jacket I had on. TOTALLY WORTH WEARING IT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS LIKE 70. :D HAHA.

Around 2:30 they started handing out these wristbands which were later turned in for a t-shirt. (more on this later) We also filled out a little slip of paper with our name/address/email for apparently some additional Resistance merch and beta codes for Ratchet and Resistance 3. YAY.

Shortly after Ted Price came out to greet the crowd. I was near the front and AS YOU SEE desperately tried to snap a picture of him bcuz i didnt know he was going to keep going down the line. FOR THOSE THAT DON'T KNOW TED PRICE IS THE FOUNDER/OWNER OF INSOMNIAC GAMES. SO THIS IS A BIG DEAL FOR ME. /nerd btw/

but then he came down the line and talked to us a little. THIS ISN'T ZOOMED IN BTW. i was excited. i didn't say anything to him though bcuz I am weird. BUT YEAH. I WAS SO EXCITED NO LIES.

This was near the entrance after we got in. RAFFLE PRIZES!! ;3; awesomeee. Also I had no idea the Ratchet & Clank vinyl figures were that huge. .___.

A picture of one of the art standee things they had up. Ugh I wish I got more pictures of the other ones now. ): The next time I came out of the theater they were all taken down. /sad/

Giant screen in the egyptian theater where they showed us the demos and stuff from the games, and some other cool stuff. ;3; They showed us the first look at the boat level in Resistance 3, which has sense been posted: here I didn't see the video they included but if it's the level I doubt its the entire thing like we saw. (plus the cut scene leading into it) I was so excited about this fffffff. It was amazing.

One of the panels also had Clank (and Hale's) VA up, and it was rly funny when he'd randomly go into Clank voice. He did the Clank laugh too.....and a sample of Hale's voice. :D

NEXT THOUGH....WAS THE BEST OF THE BEST.... Ted Price was hanging around in the front of the theater between segments, so during one of them I popped up there and uh, asked if he would get a photo of him holding my plush........

yes omg fklakslkas. THEN! He was really impressed with them and turned to some insomniac bros standing by him and was like LOOK AT THESE HOW COOL RIGHT and they all thought they were super awesome too....and had like SUPER PRO INSOMNIAC PHOTO DUDES take pictures of them and they told me they'd get posted on their website later. i am like....dying. Also James Stevenson (the senior community manager of insomniac) took a picture of me with the plush on his 3DS. (I wish I had gotten a picture of that klasdfk) IT WAS AMAZING. ;3;

I also took the chance to told them I was the dude with the Resistance sticker on my car, and they seemed to remember it. I WAS THRILLED.....MORE.

MEET AND GREET.....AKA: GET INSOMNIAC TO SIGN MY COPY OF R1. I also had my plush with me and like most of the staff kept making comments on them. They really liked them. One of them was like "NOTICE WE AREN'T SIGNING THOSE". and I lol'd. Another one looked at it and said something about Ratchet "having attitude" in the plush. fdlkkfa. They were super impressed that they had magnet power too... it was amazing. ;3; i was probably grinning like a dumbass the entire time. lol one of the staff guys looked to the person next to me in line and jokingly was like "WHERE IS YOUR THING YOU MADE? :I" and i heard another one say its one of the most creative things they'd seen that day. ;3; .....it was the best. At the end of the line was Ted Price again and he thanked me for coming out and everything and it was amazing akkjlf. i think james stevenson said thanks for the car sticker too. LOL.

overall it was better than i could have imagined...insomniac is the coolest bros ever. next time they do this i am going no matter what again!! this was so freaking cool.

Photo of the shirt and the signed R1 I came home with shortly before I went to bed. |3

The following is better photos of the stuff I got and my ratchet and clank plush. :u

First time working with magnets. It went pretty well! :D

The shirt! Which is super cute. I hadn't seen which one we were getting and a few insomniac staff was wearing this one and a different one. I remember seeing this one and being like MAN I HOPE THAT IS THE SHIRT WE GET BCUZ ITS SUPER AWESOME.......and we did. |3

the first signature i got was TJ Fixman on here. he was the writer for Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time. WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER.....!!

lol notice ted price. heeheeeheeeeeeeeeeeee

overall it was the best day ever and i seeeeeriously wish i got more pichurs. like the picture of me w/my plush off Stevenon's 3DS. BCUZ SRSLY THAT IS FREAKING AWESOME.

but yep.

this was basically like any fan's one true wish. i don't think anyone on my flist can comprehend how freaking awesome this was. i mean idk. JUST IMAGINE THE COOLEST PEOPLE EVER TO YOU AND LIKE.....GETTING TO DIRECTLY INTERACT WITH THEM. it just asjflkjj

the best.

edit: Insomniac posted some pictures from community day here. If you look hard enough you might just catch me in there. :D

As jelly as I was all of yesterday as I read yours and insomniac's live tweets, I am even more so today!! ;3; I can't get over how ridiculously cool this is, though I'm sure it was like way way way more awesome for you cuz you've been a fan longer. But it makes me wanna try anything to go to the next one!! ;____; It's like a con except with ZERO FAIL AND 100% WIN instead of mostly win and a little fail.

Also if/when the other pictures come up I wanna see those too! ;3;

hahaa idk if im good enough for commissions though. commission people can be rly picky and idk if my skills would be up to conforming to what it is people want in a plush product.

but thanks :D

Your plushes look awesome ( love the magnets! ) & that's so cool that the developers got to see and admire them, haha. Seems like an awesome day all around! The signature-covered R1 looks amazing.

THANKS!! It was amazing ok. ;3; Also working with the magnets was really fun! (though sometimes obnoxious... lol anytime i went to cut a thread near the magnets they'd stick to my scissors. :I) it was tons of fun though!

The signed game will just remind me of going down that table and having the staff comment on my plush as they signed the game. |DDD hee.
