Playstation Triple

antoj: (Why)
So uh yeah! I got a Playstation Triple this past Saturday. I've been too busy playing it to post about it's awesome here. HAW.

No seriously, though. It's super fun. And I only have 3 games for it. I'm really liking it though. It's kind of sad though, because this same thing reminds me of way back when when I got my PSP and I played it a lot at first all "OMG THIS IS THE COOLEST THING EVER" and then I didn't anymore... and then I got my DS Lite to which I was like "OMG THIS IS SO MUCH COOLER YOU GUYS" and I played it WAY more and ended up with WAY more games for it and stuff.

Yea I'm starting to see this parallel happening, but in OPPOSITE with my consoles. I've had my Wii the Christmas since it came out (2006, the day after Christmas, I sat my ass in a gamestop for 6 hours waiting for the "maybe" UPS truck with the "maybe" Wiis on it. It had 3, I was second person in line (out of 8) I got my Wii, I was thrilled (and a super nerd).) But then since that time I only have FIVE games for it.

Only two of which I actually see myself playing a lot, Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers: Brawl. And I play brawl with a gamecube controller.

Which I guess brings me to my next point. About 90% of the time when I play my Wii, I am using it to play a gamecube game. Gamecube still is my favorite console. I wonder why the Wii never became awesome. Oh wait, it's because they make you flail like a freak in all their games. What happened to controllers? I feel like Nintendo tried so hard to cap into the "non-gamers" crowd that the people that were rabid-ass nintendo fans (ME, LOL) now feel ... like they aren't the same. It's left me rather disappointed. Though I do give props to Nintendo for consistently being on the top selling list with both the Wii and DS for successfully tapping that market of non-gamers.... but really... sigh.. since these consoles are so popular, I don't see nintendo going back to making regular old consoles with the controllers and games. Disappointing.

The online play of the Wii sucks ass too. Super Smash Brothers: Brawl online seemed like the COOLEST THING EVER. But finding a fight that doesn't lag BEYOND ALL REASON is nearly impossible (which makes no sense because I can download at like 10mb/s+ ugh) so it lost all fun.

But my playstation 3 is everything I missed about a game console and I didn't realize it until I actually HAD the playstation. As I played my games (I ONLY HAS THREE RIGHT NOW :D) I realized, yea, this is what I missed about the wii, ugh CONTROLLERS PLEASE. I don't like having to aim, its not comfortable. Sometimes I want to sit back and just enjoy playing my game, flailing my arms around doesn't fall into that catagorey.

Also, it has me now looking at possible games I might have got in the past for Wii, (but didn't because I didn't want to deal with motion controls) that are on Ps3, I'm like, hmmmm ps3 version. Even though 90% of the time the PS3 version is more expensive. Whatever, if it brings more fun, THEN BRING IT, BITCHES.

The PSN is much better than using the Wii's "friend" system. The console codes are a pain in the ass, why not just use a SCREEN NAME. Plus with the PSN I can use the same s/n from my psp on my ps3... it syncs, it's cooler... it's more integrated...

I'm just a little disappointed because Nintendo was ALWAYS my favorite... but now I'm feeling like they aren't what they used to be. For now, my Wii is a way for my to continue to enjoy my gamecube games. Haha I don't even really *need* the virtual console on the wii, because my PSP is hacked and can run all the SNES games I'd ever want to play... plus I have the collection games for Sonic/Megaman/Megaman X games from the SNES and stuff for gamecube.. so again, IDK... I might use it to play n64 games I never was able to get, or miss, or something... maybe.

Ugh it really disappoints me though. Nintendo, why?

Then this shit about the DSi ... YEA WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS CRAP!? Let's take out the GBA slot and add a 0.3 Megapixel camera... YEA YOU HEARD ME, ZERO POINT THREE. Oh yes, Nintendo, that is an improvement to a GAME DEVICE. lol what's with this crap of it competing with an iPhone? DOES IT HAVE A PHONE BUILT IN TOO!? LOL. (skype on psp anyone? (lol not for psp-1000 (aka: fat psp/launch psp))

I'm pissy enough they took the ps3 backplay ability, but not too bad because I ONLY HAVE LIKE 7 GAMES MAX FOR BOTH PS1 AND PS2. (And now that the PSN has a playstation store that offers old playstation games I was able to buy spyro the dragon and crash bandicoot 3 on it. AND WHAT ELSE IS AWESOME, once I buy it I can download it on my PSP AND my ps3, because its the same account, its integrated and awesome.) But I have at least 25 GBA games. SO WHY NINTENDO, WHY IS THIS A GOOD THING?

Especially since my DS Lite is half-broken (AND NINTENDO WILL FIX IT FOR 90 DOLLARS....... OH OK THAT'S JUST 40 BUCKS SHY OF A BRAND NEW DS, HOW ABOUT NO?) Uggghhh.

Haha dear lord this was supposed to be about the awesome of PS3 but turned into how I am disappointed in Nintendo rant. Maybe I should change the journal title. XD
