ya'll are probs aware Or maybe you're not about how much I'm like pants-crappingly excited about the "Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale" why didn't they go with the prototype title "title fight" :'c

but a lot of people aren't.

most of the backlash i've seen for it falls into two arguments.

1) "its a smash brothers rip off"
2) "sony has no fun/interesting/memorable characters to make the game good"

i disagree 100%. obviously. and i'm not just saying this as a sony fangirl either even though i am, no shame. just because sony doesn't have any series that have run as long as a lot of nintendo's characters doesn't mean they aren't good or interesting. in fact, for me personally i find i like sony's characters a lot more. most of the nintendo ones feel more like mascots than actual /characters/ to me. and i know this doesn't make my opinion "right", but i was like the nintendo fangirl until nintendo crushed all my loyalty to them with the wii. never again.

before i got my ps3 i was not even super into any video game fandoms. BUT NOW LOOK AT ME. :( can any of you even imagine me not being a video game fan...

idk maybe i'm just taking it too personally but its like rrghhgrurg. whatever you guys.

also i don't see how it's bad its a "smash brothers clone". lol playing as all the characters i like in one game? aww yeaa. why is this bad? are they afraid sony might build upon the style of ssb and make it better? and if it's worse, who cares? i mean idgi. there is no more original ideas in gaming anymore anyway. did gran turismo come out and then they said WELP NO MORE RACING GAMES BCUZ GRAN TURISMO IS IT. WE'LL JUST BE STEALING FROM THEM IF WE DO IT NOW.

what about all the platforming games? WELP MARIO EXISTS, LET'S NEVER MAKE ANYMORE PLATFORMING GAMES.

and you think i'd be used to this when i end up liking everything that is unpopular. i don't even do it on purpose ;___;

oh oh oh! OH! and e3 pressers have been confirmed for june 4th. it's a monday again. i'm going to spend all day sealed in my room glued to my tv as i watch EVERY SINGLE GAME ANNOUNCEMENT EVER. it's going to be the most exciting day of 2012 for me. what is my life. if only i could go to e3 in person. :'c so close, but so far. crycrycry

I doubt I'll be getting this game (since, you know, I do have Smash Bros, and it's not like I'm super invested in the Sony characters), but I will always approve of fighting games where you can play characters from multiple series. ALWAYS.

I would buy ALL THE FIGHTING GAMES if money wasn't an issue. They're fun.

that's exactly how i feel about it. i don't see why people can just hate it for those reasons. :| those are the same reasons why i find it ridiculously cool.

im also pretty excited about online play for it. i know at least two of my friends will be getting it. :'D so yay!? the forever broken online play from brawl was extremely disappointing to me.

Yeah, online play for Brawl really sucked. 9 out of 10 times it would disconnect for me.

You'll have to tell me how the online play is for this game.

I'm sure it will work very well. I've never encountered problems with sony games online before... outside of beta testing that is :b (in which case, absolutely makes sense!)

but generally any time i want to play, unless there was an announced psn network maintenance, i've never had issues. :D

I wonder why the Wii's online play sucks so much in comparison. Less powerful hardware, I guess?

Ironically, the 3DS doesn't seem to be as glitchy as the Wii when connecting to Wifi, at least on the games I've tried.

Yeah, well nintendo is finally stepping up to the ~*~digital age~*~ with the wii u also, so it's not a surprise that the 3ds uses better connecting systems too.

That's kind of funny on the PS2. I wasn't aware of that. I don't have any PS2 games that offer online play. (My PS2 was purchased solely for DDR, and since then I've branched out to a few RPGs too.)

Most of the PS2 game servers have been taken offline now, but I've been playing JakX online by tricking my ps2 into thinking LAN is internet play......and it still works flawlessly. that is, using my router, my computer and some software to trick my ps2 into playing online is still more functional than nintendo's online (at least for brawl... but i dont have anything else to compare it to lol)

I hardly think you're being butthurt, or if you are, I am too D:< I haven't really bothered looking at what people are saying, but after getting that same exact "it's just a clone with shitty character rargh rargh" spiel from someone, it's just... very frustrating! I think the idea is fucking AWESOME personally and I really can't wait to play it. I don't see why people are being so contrary about it. It's going to be really fun...

I think some people like to bash Sony anything because it's Sony to be honest.
That said, I really want to get the game. It looks super fun and the controls look a lot simpler than say...UMvC3.

You always going to have your haters. I understand what you are saying about the long run with Nintendo's characters. It is kind of like a popular movie that gets sequel after sequel, until the point that you are sick of everything relating to said movie...:\

Oh yeah. I am not a fan of dragging things out, which is probably a large reason why Sony doesn't have many (if any?) super long running franchises. I'd prefer them to stop making games for a series (even if I love it) than to keep making them as they steadily decline in quality. :(

That said, while I haven't really PLAYED any Nintendo titles in a long while (last game I bought for my Wii was probably Brawl, tbh) I don't think they've gotten to the point of the gameplay being old? ...and I don't think the platformy games are as story heavy as a lot of the titles I enjoy.

That is why I am happy that The Fifth Element never got a sequel or a prequel. Yes, I am left with many questions but that is half the fun when you enjoy a movie, book or video game...:3

Well, even though some platform games don't have an involved story I hate it when they start changing things. I know I mentioned the whole Princess Toadstool/Peach name thing. I know that Sonic the Hedgehog makes my head hurt now-a-days. They are always changing things...;_;

I think it's very fair to say it looks similar to Super Smash Bros., because it really does (kind of the style? like a bit jokey and the way it's put together) but... does that matter? Any kind of fighting game with more than 2 players is going to look like that, and SSB proved it's a fun formula. I feel like a lot of the hate is just because of the name too, it's such an awkward mouthful.

But oh my god YES I AM SO EXCITED I WILL BE EXCITED WITH YOU. I'm only a casual Nintendo fan and SSB kind of bores me a bit, but I really enjoyed playing as Snake in Brawl. Snake/some Metal Gear characters will definitely be in this, as well as Cole, Nathan Drake, most likely some Assassins since Ubisoft favours the PS3 to 360? IT'S GOING TO BE SO GREAT.

And I agree about the name. D: When this game got rumored a few months ago it was called "Title Fight" and that...sounds better. :( A lot better than this giant thing.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to see who's going to be announced for it. *_* Luckily for me the ones I am looking forward to the most seem like a sure to get in. (Cole, Jak, Ratchet...lol) but anything else is just icing on the cake ok.

I really don't understand how people can hate this D: the very first time I heard about this game I was totally excited and I think it's so cool to play as all these Sony characters. And honestly, I believe that some of them are even more popular than some Nintendo characters. (I might be wrong though)

I LOVE SB and I can't wait for this and people should be excited to get a game like this for once. But we all know how this will end anyway: all the haters will still play it and think it is fun :|

It depends on which Sony characters vs what Nintendo characters, but I'd wager you're right that some of the characters in SSB aren't (weren't?) as popular as some sony ones. But I don't think people will admit it because they're too busy hating it :D

LOL THE HATERS WILL PLAY IT BUT NEVER ADMIT IT. i bet this game will still get negative fan reaction, despite people playing it. I won't be though, obviously. Maybe its just because the haters can yell louder than the people who actually like it. IDK.
