My filtering = screen + soft light layers. That's it. |D I use screen to lighten dark icons and then soft light to make them less omgmyeyes bright. I rarely mess with the colors (and even when I do, the only thing I know how to do is a navy blue colored layer set to exclusion...which doesn't look great on every icon). I know how to do a lot of shit in PS but making awesome icons is not one of those things. :|

I like when people enhance the colors in an icon (though even then only if it's done well), but altering them too much and yeah, it just looks really bad. :/

HAHA RIGHT? i'm running out of space too. i need to stop making tons of derp icons just for the lulz and make ones i will actually use now. D: D: D: but i won't anyway sometimes i also get confused in my icons cuz i'll be like "WHARS THAT ONE JAYDEN ICON LOLOLOL" but then i realize its not in my main account or w/e...and then it's a sad day. cole has an icon i like a lot too BUT IF I USED ALL MY RP ICONS ON MY MAIN ACCOUNT I WOULD RUN OUT OF SPACE IN 20 SECONDS FFFFFFF

i've seen so many bad icons...lol its why i don't even bother messing with them anymore. ;_; the most i do is adjust brightness/contrast if the colors are too dark/light.

At least LJ lets people buy more space now instead of maxing it at 100+loyalty spaces. Except the only money I have I shouldn't be spending on more icon space, hahah. And I don't need more space for icons that I don't use half of anyway. |D

I usually trust other people to make good icons over myself. Usually. Really the only time I make icons is when I need to make a 'ship icon. (See example on this comment. I edited someone completely out of a cap and then shoved them together because of OTPery.) Or when the fandom is severely lacking in icons by other people. :|

YEA YOU CAN BUY MORE...but idk if i would. :'D I already did buy an add-on package and jayden has one on his account too ffffffff AND IDK IF I CAN AFFORD BUYING ALL THESE FREAKING ICONS JSkaakkjas. i don't use a lot of my icons either....a lot of the ones i use are just random poop icons, but i use all the freaking time anyway like this slotted shades cole icon

lolololo i end up having to make icons myself because no one likes the things that i do. ;_; so sad. and the jayden icons happened because i just needed more expressions .....and i was taking shitloads of caps SO I MIGHT AS WELL RIGHT!?
