jet's sister died today too.
i seriously think it had to do with jet dying a bit ago... i don't think she could cope with life without her sister anymore. they were from the same litter, and they did everything together. i can't think of any other reason. she wasn't sick.
now just the brother is left. i hope he isn't too lonely without them anymore.

I guess some animals take it harder than others. Our cat got incredibly sick a week or two after her sister died. She seems to be doing okay now, though she follows us around the house all the time. (I keep telling my parents that I think she'd be happier with another cat to keep her company, but they said that getting another cat would just cause the cycle to repeat.)

as for new cat friends, it depends on the cat. some cats don't take well to new ones. crandles hardly gets along with her housemates (she likes to punch them for little to no reason) but we've had no problems with others. :| so i dunno...

I think Callie would be fine with another cat (she's really friendly, around other animals and people), but I can understand why my parents don't want to try that option.
