Heavy Rain Comparitive Collection

So in similar style to my inFAMOUS collection post, I'm going to post up my Heavy Rain stuff. It's significantly less, but I do have three versions of the game. :'D still have more infamous though.

first of all my poster i just put up. yes i didn't crop my infamous poster out because it is a cool bro too. ffffffffffffffffffff but i like this poster mmhmm. and jayden and ethan are next to each other so obviously makes it a +10 (i'm dumb ok).

From left to right~> limited release special edition, generic north american release, and the "origami" version (it's a press kit).


this is the inside of the non-exciting north american release. also i just want to say i don't like the cover of the NA version. why is madison prominently featured on the front cover. i mean idk if its just me but shouldn't ethan be the one more prominently featured? ....idk..... i think they just wanted to promote the game using soggy wimminz. but i am not approval. but no one cares what i think.


origammy version. it looks so boring. also i just wanna say i imagined this thing to be bigger than it actually was when i got it. D: maybe cuz the inFAMOUS press kit is huge. and comes with art and stuff too ffff

it folds open and looks like a cool nasty bro. the insides of the folded pieces have pics of the characters. YOU CAN SEE A MADISON HERE.

it has two discs, yea. the first disc is probably the game (i haven't put it in yet because i don't rly fancy 9000 installs of hr on my ps3 like i do with infamous D:) and the second disc (the asset disc) is full of images and information about the studio/actors/characters/etc/etc. it's really neat. :o i pulled off some images and character bios off the disc already. the images are really really big (like 10k+ px wide lol) so its like super HD time. they are beautious let me tell you. but yea. that's the press kit!!!!!!! COOL!!!!!!1


And now for the limited release special edition. :o Apparently this was only for sell in *one* store in the UK, and then in australia it retails at over 100USD. I got this sucker on eBay for $50 shipped from the UK. Which is less than I paid for my standard NA release. :I stalking ebay like a creeper really does pay off sometimes!!!. i kept the flash on so you can see the shiny 3d rain effect things on the box. :o spiffy.

much like the inFAMOUS one, it slips out of a cardboard cover to a 3 panel fold out thing. OH BOY ITS SCOTT SHELBY. :U

the coolest thing is that this dude is like the instruction manual. its kind of confusing how it folds out all hueg but i like the art on it and stuff. :o

i remember being kind of butthurt that i didn't see jayden on one of the fold out panels, so i thought oh hey maybe..... yeeeeeep jayden is hiding under the game disc. lol. but you know what this means...........

And ahahaha, it really gives credence to that theory that all American releases have to have the characters on it. XD

I love the SE version with the wet effect though! So cool. The actual pic and back are exactly the same as the English release though. :) Which is cool to know~

and not just *any* of the characters, they have to put the sexy lady in the front because obviously it is the only way to market games to american males. oh look at me over generalizing and totally not butthurt at the stupid NA cover :'D

The fake raindrops on the SE is part of what makes it so cool... I mean other than the cool fold-out thing too. |3

I was actually looking into the different releases of the game...because i like to collect this kind of stuff i guess? and so far i've seen that the japanese version has a different cover, but i'm not entirely too interested in it so i might pass.

Hmm, I didn't particularly notice that Mads was so prominent... probably because I just glanced and say it that she was standing out more my having light clothes and bare arms.. or something. Though your reason is more likely, tbh.

I had a look at the Japan cover, googling gave me a load of articles about how bad it is. XD Though tbh I quite like it. Not as good as the English cover, but still. :)

It's definitely not the *worst* cover they could have done... but its a little "UHHH WHAT" kind of... xD; IDK. someday when I have money again I might pick up a copy of it IF I AM SO INCLINED... but yeah.

Europe/Australia still got the best cover...and I guess I like the north american release slightly more than the japanese one. but idk. :I

Haha, yeah I was a bit 'wut' at first, but I think the concept's pretty clear (don't see what those bloggers weren't getting..) it's just the whole... well... nose aspect. XD It's definitely different though! So good for collecting in that vein. :)


And yup, I'm very happy with my European cover. ;) We seem to consistently get better covers, which is a small compensation for getting every game so late, I suppose.

Yea, the Special Edition of both Heavy Rain and inFAMOUS that I have are both europe/australian exclusives. :C Though the heavy rain was apparently super limited release in the UK.
